In 2009, the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital Celebrated its 25th anniversary of its kidney transplant program, the largest one of its kind in Texas. Methodist AirCare is an emergency air transport service that provides life-saving 24/7 emergency helicopter service to residents located throughout Bexar county and most of South Texas.
Known as the “Hospital of the Future,” Methodist Stone Oak Hospital is part of an area rapidly becoming recognized as San Antonio’s “second major medical center.” The area has seen the completion of 300,000 square-feet of medical space in the past two years alone. Phase one of Methodist Stone Oak Hospital was completed in 2009 and includes a 132-bed comprehensive acute-care hospital and outpatient services. Plans for future development include the possibility of as many as 350-beds and an attached 120,000 square-foot Medical Office Building that will house physicians of all specialties.
